Your photos
Converting and reading metadata happen in your browser, on your device. Your photos are not uploaded to us and we never see them.
There is one exception, and it is off unless you set it up: if you connect a Pixel Sentinel account and leave "Add converted files to Pixel Sentinel" ticked, each converted copy is sent through our server to your Pixel Sentinel account. We pass it on and don't keep it. From there, Pixel Sentinel's own privacy policy applies.
Without an account
We keep nothing about you or your files. Metadata you download as CSV or JSON is made in your browser.
With an account
- Email address. Used to send you sign-in links, and for nothing else.
- Metadata history. While "Keep each file's metadata in my history" is ticked, we store the metadata of the files you process: file name and size, image details, camera fields, colour profile, XMP fields, and the location where the photo was taken unless you chose to remove it. We never store the pictures themselves.
- Pixel Sentinel connection. If you connect one, we store the access it grants, encrypted. It lets us add images to your Pixel Sentinel account and nothing else.
You can delete single records, your whole history, or your account with everything in it from the account page. Deletion is immediate.
Cookies
One cookie, set when you sign in, which keeps you signed in for 30 days. There are no advertising or tracking cookies on this site.
Links to other sites
The software page links to other companies' sites. Any link that pays us a commission is labelled. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies.
Who we share data with
Nobody, apart from the companies that host the site and deliver our email, which handle data only to provide those services, and Pixel Sentinel when you connect it yourself. We don't sell data.
